Out of all the movie based toys the best one is from the game and not the movie

Anyone else find that kinda funny?

I do, but only because I think Landmine is the best movie mold. :P

The concept Camaro is nice too, and Wreckage, mmm... But the Dropkick mold just doesn't do it for me. Those guns on his arms bother me, and, well, so does a lot of his design, really. Not that that stopped me from buying Salvage, of course.

Hey Tec, by any chance were you the guy that bought Dropkick after I started that "Dropkick Lovefest" thread on Siebertron a couple years ago? I had lots of pics of him and went all gushy about how awesome he was, then someone else bought him and started singing his praises too?

I only ask because I've seen you mention Dropkick a couple times on The Allspark and I never see anyone but you and me talk about Dropkick being awesome.

Man, now I wanna go dig up that thread just to see if it was you, lol.

edit: found it, reading it now. Funny to look at, those were some of the first TF pics I ever took. They're uhm, not so hot, lol.

Lollers to this thread as it's about to get it's teeth kicked in by ROTF! I am absolutely in love with the new Leader Prime and as much as I wasn't expecting it - Sideways is Awesomesauce in a can!

I do have to give mad props to Landmine though. I love that toy so much

Eh, Landmines, "allright," But movie longarm would whup his arse with his "big gun o' doom!"

Longarm (the towtruck) is a pretty underrated movie figure. Funny how some of the best molds weren't really in the movie.

Agreed that Sideswipes awesome, if only he'd stand up and keep his chest together. :(

Was surprised at how cool Rampage turned out to be, the new Starscream mold is really cool too though his arms are kinda jacked. Wonder why it's so hard to get a decent movie Starscream with decent arms? 2 different molds and both of them have bizarre arms

Lol, sure... if Dropkick could hold it up or rotate it. Dropkick annoys me for his sheer lack of articulation. That's pretty important to me when judging figures as fun. For instance: G1 toys are pretty much garbage by today's standards in much the same way that some Armada and Energon figures are junk. If I want that kind of stuff I'll go buy something made by Mattel.... or G1, lol (luvers to my G1 though). But that's just me and I'm a junkie for articulation like most are for character scale.

Sideswipe is okay. Again lack of articulation hurts and he is a pain to stand but it's not impossible. I was actually refering to SideWAYS:

Great figure all around.

Rampage, again, he's cool and all but really? No elbows? Like....at all.... I R sad Panda :( but everything else on him is great and he certainly has character. I'll echo your sentiments on Starscream and another thing that I don't like are his child bearing hips which aren't apparent on the CGI. But at least we have the new LEADER figure to look forward too for him. I have serious high hopes for that..... like, seriously, seriously :lol

ah Sideways, my mistake. Too many "Silver/Side" cars in this movie, lol.

Yeah Sideways has been my favorite toy in the line so far, I just love him. Easily posable, looks cool, no problems with him at all. Plus he channels Kickback and Barricade really well. Pretty much all the other toys have something or another that bugs me.

Skids-Legs are too loose and floppy, wont stand up unless I lean him againt someone, but he does have character and an interesting transformation. (plus it might just be mine that's floppy, though at least his teeth are painted)

Rampage- Cool but very fiddly and annoying getting back into 'Dozer mode and he's missing his D'con insignia on his chest. Jackhammer mode kinda sucks and his Dozer scoop pops off if you look at it wrong. And like you said, No Elbows kinda sucks.

Sideswipe- So someone thought a toy with wheels for feet was a good idea? I've figured out how to get him to stand, rotate his toes up so he's really standing on his heels and wheels, but it's still kinda "wtf?" plus his chest wont snap in at all. Looser then a corner hooker.

Soundwave can't complain too much, I kinda knew what I was getting. I just got him because, "OMG Iz Soundwave he's so G1!!!" I'm a sucker for some G1 characters

Starscream is awesome and his jet mode finally looks really nice. Love the landing gear and all. Then I TF'd him and just kept wondering why the hell his arms and elbows were so jacked.

Demolisher is awesome, but I'm very annoyed that his hands/buckets don't split open to make actual hands and fingers like he has in the trailer. They're plenty big enough to allow for hinges and all, I just really don't understand why they took such a lazy route on his hands. That's my only complaint about him. And I admit I really think the way his treads pop into wheels is just brilliant.

___________

I love the classics/beast wars/animated toys so much, and they're so durable and solid, fun to transform etc. I guess I'd forgotten how fiddly and kind of annoying the movie figures can be. I like them alot, and I really like the way they look it's a great aestethic *sp?* (I'm tired, can't spell) But I just never seem to have FUN with them like I do the other toys. I mean classics Ultra Magnus I'll pull down and put it on the coffee table while I watch movies or something, and I'll constantly be TF'ing him and putting him in badass poses and such. they're just generally fun to transform and pose and stuff. But I just never seem to have that fun factor with the movie toys even though I like them alot.

Just don't understand why that is. They always feel like they're gonna break, and I never get that feeling with the other toy series.

I haven't seen Dropkick, but I can confirm he hasn't much competition.

I'm yet to see any movie design that I like. ;)
