Ok this is a worst case scenario and likely a user error but OTOH it seems silly the site lets you do it.

Take this Wings of Honor Villians set. It came out May 28, 2009:

However, user lightsyder has it in his collection saying he bought it June 01, 1940!
I found it on his Flash signature on the Fun Facts tab, as can be seen here:

It also shows up with that date on his profile but it is a WAYS down...

Oh, yeah, in my most recent front end refactor, I switched the date pickers out (from Google Closure to JQueryUI), and forgot to put the minimum date limits back in. I noticed that myself, a few nights ago. Will fix it soonish. Thanks much, Trip.

Okay, I've restored the minimum date limitation on the collection UI date pickers. But I don't know if I got it quite right; I remember we had some debate about this a while back, when somebody claimed that the limit was interfering with their ability to track when they did pre-orders.

Engledogg, do you remember how that all played out?

The 1940 date could have been a bug and he never corrected it.  I remember a few date bugs going around back in the day.

As far as the pre-order stuff, I don't really remember.  I know that you can't add something to your collection until the release date has been realized, but as far as going into the collection UI after the release date and then inputting the pre-release date on which you pre-ordered it, I don't remember if you allowed to do that or not.

I found this and this older one.  Consensus, at the time, seemed to be that you could make a note of when you pre-ordered in the comments area, but had to use the toy's release date as the date of purchase.

Okay, great. I'll it as-is, then. Thanks much, Ed.
