Exhaust... the TFSource "Variant"

Something occurred to me as I sat, frowning at the hood of my TFSource-purchased Exhaust figure:  Could this be considered as an actual variant?  Their entire stock has the hood/bonnet paint modified to further separate it from the scrutiny of the lawyers of Philip Morris USA, so the version with this paint job is teeeeechnically a "TFSource Store Exclusive," right?

Thoughts and inputs are welcome.

I would say not...as it was not a variant put out by the original company, but a toy that had something added by a vendor to be able to sell them in the United States.  Additionally, they added it without telling the people that already purchased it, which ticked more than a few folks off.

So, nope, not a true variant.  If you think about it, technically, this would be no different than BBTS adding an orange plug to Encore Megatron.

Here's what I do when it comes to "variants" that are too obscure or very few people would have a use for, thus do not have their own entries. I put that info into the notes/comments field.

For example, G1 Kickback US only has 2 database entries, one for the single rubsign indent on the wings and one for the four. Now technically, there are 4 versions not 2, however the collective "desire" for those other two versions is very small and thus do not exist. Each of the Kickbacks have two different copyright stamps, which you can see here in my details view I have the stamp entered into the comments field.

Yeah, one of these days we're gonna address the stampings and things like that.  I have a number of Soundwaves with different stampings...some on the body, some on the battery cover, some with both...

These are good ideas.  I have funny stamp variants as well.  Thanks!
