When i type in the word "exclusive" the results dont get narrowed down at all for japanese toys. Possibly other countries too but japan was the obvious one i noticed.

Nice catch...

Over in the nav tree on the left, yep, Japan is displaying full results...what it might be doing is finding every top-level category that has either an "exclusives" subcategory or an "exclusive" within it and is mistakenly displaying all of the contents that category.

It does appear to be narrowing down the # of results from the full database (5952 for Antron's search vs. 11789 for the full db).  Also, countries/categories that don't have any exclusives in the db aren't being displayed.  For example, Brazil didn't turn up in your search, which is expected.

Looking at Japan, it's giving full results - 3694 results; as is Europe - 1074 results.

So, it might be what I said before (finding exclusive and displaying full contents), or there's just something up with Japan and Europe. :)

+1 Confirmed... but not sure why. To test:

Click Japan. Type in Convoy press Enter. Notice the amount of results. Then add exclusive to the search. The number does not change.
Click US. Type in Optimus Prime, press Enter. See result number. Add Exclusive to search. The results are then lower.

If you just search "exclusive" in Japan, it just shows all results.

Am I sleep hacking again?

Mystery solved. For some reason, the "Japan" category node had the word "exclusive" entered as one of its search keywords. I removed the term, so some time tomorrow everything should be back to normal (automated scripts will update the search indices).

Europe also had "exclusive" entered as a search keyword.  I just removed it, so it might be a little while after Japan is fixed before this kicks in.

The automatic scripts seem to have worked their magic. Closing.
