Thank you, KidTDragon. Merry Opti-mas!

I've checked in a fix. Please confirm that it is working as expected, now.

Hey folks, just to let you know, I was able to reproduce this issue in my development environment, and I'm debugging it now. Should have an update soon.

Hi Bjallen, very sorry for the long delay, but can you explain in a little more detail what it is you expect to see? If it's difficult to describe, feel free to create a picture or diagram.

Tusko, I'm sure you know this, but that Jetfire toy comes from a mold from a different toyline (Macross), and that mold and its descendents are still going strong in Japan today. Whenever I go in a toy store there I always come across an entire shelf of high-end repaints and modern retools of your pal. You picked a good 'un.
And I never scored a G1 Optimus, either. Never had a pet rock or a Stretch Armostrong, either, but there's still time...

Here's hoping we don't all regret this, but I went ahead and tore out the old mailer and replaced it with the new one all throughout the shmax code base. Oh, Outlook, the things I do for you...
53
Ah, well for the moment I'm only using the new mailer in my admin tools. So, since it seems to be working better I'll go ahead and integrate it into the rest of the site. Thanks for reporting back.

I installed a really popular and well-vetted emailing package and set up a "send-mail-to-triklops" button in our admin tools to test it out. The first one I sent had a bug (missing anchor text), but the next appears just fine for me in gmail. Let me know how it looks in Outlook; if this fails, then I'm sort of out of ideas...

For me, it might be this: https://k.mandarake.co.jp/auction/item/itemInfoEn.html?index=508172
It's a yellow sports car that transforms into... *drum roll* a red sports car. When I first saw this in a toy shop in San Francisco as a dumb, broke kid I was gobsmacked by the awesome, but funds were a problem.
Now, as a dumb adult with extra cash, I was lucky enough to spot one of these in a vintage shop (cost me $450) when I was in Tokyo a few years ago. I haven't even opened the box yet to have a peek at it (I'm waiting until I can get a nice display cabinet) just having it is enough.

Hey again, sorry for the delay, but I think I finally solved the mystery of the missing notification emails (the software package I use received a silent update with a breaking change, sigh). I can't restore the ones already missed, but going forward everything should once again work as it once did. Let me know if there's still a problem, and thanks for reporting.

I was able to view your forwarded email in gmail with no problems, links and all.  Thanks for passing that along. From what I've been reading there are various known bugs in Outlook concerning links inside tables (which is what I use), but looking at your screenshot it almost looks to me like the email is not correctly rendering as html. This is something that is supposed to be cued by information in the headers, which I see being written (confirmed in the debugger), but I'm not sure about the character encoding.

I think what I'll do next is try swapping out my email class for another popular one that is a bit more battled-hardened, and we'll see if we have more luck.

Hmm, I don't think I received anything... did you send it to my personal email address (the one at the bottom of the home page)?
59
Thanks much. I logged in to browserstack, and while they did have a Monterey image, the closest Safari version I could find was 15.3. I don't have Outlook, but the links I see in gmail seem to be working as expected.

Can you forward one of your emails to me, and maybe a screenshot of what it looks like in your viewer?

...and email client, please.
