Feature Requests/Announcements / Add Brontosaurus to Dinosaurs list?
May 27, 2016, 07:01:19 AM
While adding FT-07 Stomp, I noticed the good ol' bronto was missing from the list, and I recall the experts agreeing that it was a separate species again. Should we re-add it?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brontosaurus
Almost all 20th-century paleontologists agreed with Riggs that all Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus species should be classified together in a single genus. According to the rules of the ICZN (which governs the scientific names of animals), the name Apatosaurus, having been published first, had priority as the official name; Brontosaurus was considered a junior synonym and was therefore discarded from formal use.[33][34][35][36] Despite this, at least one paleontologist--Robert T. Bakker--argued in the 1990s that A. ajax and A. excelsus are in fact sufficiently distinct that the latter continues to merit a separate genus.[37] In 2015, an extensive study of diplodocid relationships by Emanuel Tschopp, Octavio Mateus, and Roger Benson concluded that Brontosaurus was indeed a valid genus of sauropod distinct from Apatosaurus. The scientists developed a statistical method to more objectively assess differences between fossil genera and species, and concluded that Brontosaurus could be "resurrected" as a valid name. They assigned two former Apatosaurus species, A. parvus and A. yahnahpin, to Brontosaurus, as well as the type species B. excelsus.[3] Paleontologist Michael D'Emic made a critique.[6] Palaeontologist Donald Prothero criticized the mass media reaction to this study as superficial and premature, concluding:
Until someone has convincingly addressed the issue, I'm going to put "Brontosaurus" in quotes and not follow the latest media fad, nor will I overrule Riggs (1903) and put the name in my books as a valid genus.

I did notice though that the price graph at the bottom is broken on the couple different items I checked.

May 25, 2016, 05:48:48 AM
I'm trying to edit MR-03 Eagle Robo's figure, and it won't let me upload new images... either by dragging onto the upload button or by clicking that button and using the choose file dialog. I tried incognito in Chrome to no avail. This is in Chrome 50.0.2661.102 m on PC. I have not tested other browsers, since I don't use them.

Help Us Build the Database / ATP Designs (similar to Nonnef)
May 23, 2016, 05:11:33 AM
So, my buddy Mike (ATP Designs) just released his first packaged part. He's released a number of other bits and bobs over the past year or two also, but this is the first "professional" one. Can we add ATP Designs like we did Nonnef back in the day? He saays he'll be getting a web front up soon as well.

Help Us Build the Database / Reprolabels
May 05, 2016, 01:52:30 PM
Has the idea ever been discussed about adding Reprolabels releases to the site? I ask because I just got the MP-28 Hot Rodimus set and was wondering if I should shoot them for the site or not?

Just curious as to why newer accessory submissions on this have been approved, but older ones haven't? Is there something broken?

I submitted photos this morning for everything on PS-01A, and noticed there was no pic under the instruction booklet later in the day. I tried to re-upload the image and nothing happened when I browsed to and chose the image.

Bugs? On www.shmax.com? Ha ha, you kill me... / [RESOLVED]Cannot submit new figures/accessories
March 09, 2016, 04:03:43 AM
So I added an accessory and figure to the DMK-02 Bumblebee listing...
http://www.shmax.com/product_details/8461/bumblebee
At the end of adding the relavent info and pics, I clicked the submit button and it brought me to a 500 Server Error screen:
"The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.shmax.com/part_details/50689/bumblebee. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly."
If I view the product's page, it appears the submissions are in the system, but if I click on one to go into edit mode it goes to the 500 error again.

I just got this guy and he does look pretty much identical to the original release. There is a new ad/insert with him though. Do we need to make a separate listing for the reissue so that can be included, or do we disregard ad-type inserts?

Help Us Build the Database / Combiner Wars Hunters SDCC set
September 21, 2015, 05:14:12 AM
Hey guys,
I tried deleting some of the superfluous items from this set, but got a rejection notice on the comic book deletion. I'm just curious about this one since my set does not have a comic book (or any of the items I didn't submit pictures for).
