Photo of the Day / Q-Transformers Ironhide (9/3/2019)
September 03, 2019, 07:39:07 AM
Look at this adorable little Ironhide! He's so precious! Who's a little cutie-bot? Is it you? Is it you? Yes it is! Coochie-coochie-coo! Aww, isn't that cute? He grabbed my finger! Whatcha gonna do with that finger, little guy? Huh? Whatcha gonna OWW! OW-OW-OW-OWWWW! SOMEONE TELL HIM FINGERS AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BEND THAT WAY! OWWWWWW!!! (Picture courtesy of Spiff-O-Matic, who's just the cutest little photo submitter, isn't he? Isn't he the cutest OWWW!)
Today we shine a light on one of our favorite converting robot alternate modes: doorbells! Whether letting us know that someone is at our door or helping us trick other people into thinking that someone is at their door, doorbells have played an important role in all our lives. And who hasn't imagined that their humble little announcer-of-visitors is secretly a shapeshifting automaton from another planet? That's why the young and young-at-heart alike all love a good transforming doorbell toy, a source of hours of fun and..... excuse me..... Uh-huh... uh-huh...…... I see..... I've just been informed that these toys of Cosmos, Spaceracer, and Cosmos all turn into UFOs and not doorbells. I've also been advised not to do "Photo of the Day" posts on three hours of sleep. (Picture credit goes to Spiff-O-Matic, whose photos always ring our bell.)

Not a bad idea. I've thought about requesting it, too. I raised it up the flagpole, now let's see if the generals salute it.

Yes, indeed! They're right here!
Can you guess which of the wily Decepticon Clones this is? Is it the ferocious Pounce or is it the deadly Wingspan? Or could it be a third clone that no one knew about before now? Do you dare risk sinking into the depths of madness trying to figure it out? Oh, wait, I put his name up there in the title. That wasn't very bright. Good thing I wasn't offering cash prizes like the last time this happened. (Thanks to the one-of-a-kind Spiff-O-Matic for the photo.)
Photo of the Day / Unique Toys' Schunk (6/1/2019)

When you're making not-exactly-licensed toys based on other company's characters, you have to get creative with their names. And when a lot of other "third party" toymakers have already made their own versions of a character, you have to get extra-creative. That's probably what led to this itty-bitty not-Hardhead toy being named "Schunck", which I think is supposed to be the sound his head makes when it attaches. I remember it sounding more like "cha-WEEEEEN" in the cartoons, but the fine folks at Unique Toys have probably watched Headmasters more recently than I have. (Tip o' the head - I mean hat to Spiff-O-Matic for the photo.)
I only had Freeway but thought they were fun figures!  I loved the gimmick.
Great pic of GoldBug!
Spiff's the man!
Goldbug. That name's pretty on-the-nose, huh? Not very imaginative, really. I know it's hard to come up with new names constantly, but "general description" seems über-lazy. It's like naming Optimus Prime "Redtruck", or Mario "Jumpingplumber", or Muscleman "Muscleman" (wait, they did that. Bad example). Well, enough of this, I'm getting hungry. Think I'll make myself a curedpigflesh sandwich. (Photo submitted by Photosubmitter.... I mean Spiff-O-Matic.)
Photo of the Day / Beast Wars Neo Heinlad (4/1/2019)

Say hello to the Cybertrons' time-telling tanuki! Heinlad ("Heinrad" to his friends) is a pretty neat toy and a pretty neat clock, which you don't see much outside of Kronoform, though I never understood what was with those gray bits between his legs. Lemme google "tanuki" real quick...... Aw, dude! Put some pants on, Heinlad! (Photo courtesy of Hellscream333, who always wears pants. Underwear, on the other hand..)
March comes in like a Lio Convoy and goes out like a.... um.... a Ram Man.

........No, it's not a stretch! Rams are adult male lambs.

This must be why no one tries to geekify old adages. (Thanks to Hellscream333 for the photo. You're the CatSCAN's pajamas!)
In the spirit of Facebook's "10 Year Challenge" (which is totally an innocent, just-for-fun social media trend and not a surreptitious way to train their facial recognition algorithms on age progression and age recognition at all, I don't know where you got that idea) we present 2010's Reveal the Shield Windcharger with his Generation 1 counterpart from 1984. (Picture props to Spiff-O-Matic, who doesn't look like he's aged a day in the last decade.)

I was wondering if someone was going to ask for this.

Categories added! Have a blast! :)
Optimus enjoys the holiday season so much that he insisted that Hallmark sculpt his ornament doing a festive dance. (Good tidings to our resident Snapshot Santa, Spiff-O-Matic, for the pic!)
No Siege in Jersey yet.
