I'm getting back in the game (at an awful time) in a few of my more prized collections. That means selling off other collections of mine. Lots of pokemon, everything 80's and 90's. Lots of things going up in the days to come too. A bit of everything. High end items for the big fish, and cool vintage sets for the budding collector. Check me out! I've enjoyed collectiong transformers and action figures for a very long time, but the time has come where i'm forced to begin selling off certain things that I no longer need. With that being said I doubt i'll sell my entire collection, but parts of it I have to. Over the next few weeks, or possibly even months I will be slowly selling pieces on ebay. I currently have my first batch of items posted including pokemon related items and most of my transformers paraphenalia. As some of you already know my collection almost entirely consists of things from the beast era so if you're a fan of that you may find quite a bit you like. I've yet to post any figures for sale but i'm sure I will have to. The vast majority of what I own is misb/mosc. I love the shmax community and plan to always stick around, i've been givin so much from this website. From ED spreading his knowledge with me to shmax helping me along in my photography. I'm thankful for all of it and wanted to be sure to tell everyone here first that my collection will be getting widdled away on ebay. So please have a look, ask me questions etc. Thanks for reading and maybe a part of my collection can become yours.

Non-Transformers Toy Discussion / 90's toys
April 24, 2013, 05:51:00 AM
As ive been digging through my crawl spaces for totes filled with transformers to photograph I cant help but notice all of my other old toys farther in. I may have to retrieve them as well and photograph for something to do. I had forgot how many I had/have. They are all loose toys that I spent countless hours playing with as a child, but the reminiscing is enjoyable. I never really got rid of too many things growing up, the only toys I clearly remember selling were ALL of my street sharks for $20  :'( How young and dumb I was. Oh well, ya live and ya learn. Anyone else have some old goodies tucked away they may have forgotten about?

Not sure if this is only a mobile problem or not but nothing appears when I open my contribute info page. Using safari on iphone 4.

When i go to the page that shows all of the photos ive taken the first page loads up fine. When i try going to the next page of photos it acts like it loads up but still shows the same photos from page 1 no matter what page Im on. I hope that all makes sense  :-\

I know at the moment we only take photos of the front and rear of packaged figures. But what are the chances that might change in the near future for variants or figures that have a known variation? The reason i ask/suggest this is because many variations cannot be seen or told apart from a simple front or back shot. I think adding a variant photo slot in the modify product record pages would be great. That way we will no longer have to work under the honor system, the mods can actually see that the figure being photographed belongs to the correct variant record, and it will also allow other users to see what makes each variant different rather than deciphering what someone is attempting to explain in a comments section. I think it would all be very helpful  ;D

When you go to a modify product record page to make changes you'll notice many boxes are not appearing such as delete and comments. This makes you unable to delete things such as old photos etc. Boxes are also missing under release date info bar etc.

The example ill give is the one that helped me discover this. Under japan>beast wars>beast wars returns  all the figures are in the same category including perfect choice cheetas which was a lucky draw exclusive. When i clicked on modify product record and hit suggest sub category ive tried submitting just the term "exclusive" and also tried submitting the enter path leading up to exclusive. Both times to no avail. When i submit changes to record it brings me back to the product record page but theres no heading stating that my changes have been submitted and will be reviewed. Can anyone else confirm?

When i type in the word "exclusive" the results dont get narrowed down at all for japanese toys. Possibly other countries too but japan was the obvious one i noticed.

Shutterbug Club / 100th Photo Milestone
March 03, 2013, 03:12:23 PM
The transformers beast era is in trouble now.....over 100 accepted photos as of today! I know I know, not a lot compared to some of the photo gods on Shmax but Im pretty proud to have surpassed that mark. Big thanks to engledogg for helping me work out numerous kinks and continuously produce better pics over the past 4 or 5 months. To Shmax for having such a great site that allows its members to contribute and share their collections with the world. And also thank yous for everybody who posted threads and questions in the shutterbug forum that I have spent hours reading and applying to my own photos. More to come, feel free to have a look and as always, enjoy!

I've been looking for this figure for quite sometime and only keep finding the green eyed version (which i already have.) If anybody has a MISB red eyed version of this figure (in good to mint condition) i'd love to make an offer.

Maybe it's just me, which is completely plausible, but for quite some time now i haven't been able to use the drop down menu attached to my username in the upper right hand corner of the screen. This problem only occurs when im using my iphone, i literally have had to log in to shmax on my laptop everytime i wanted to contribute info or do anything that requires clicking on my username and accessing that menu. However, today when i tried going to shmax on my laptop the website itself wouldnt load up at all, on either of my home pc's. Idk y that is, and i realize these are more likely than not two completely seperate issues. But in summation, i am now only able to access the website via my iphone, but i can only access my username drop down menu via pc (when it's working). I hope that all makes sense lol.

So im fairly new to this site but i have stumbled across a few things i thought i might bring up. Im not sure if this is already known to most people but for the transmetal rampage and depth charge thin/thick box variants there is a much easier way to tell which one you have. The original thin box versions have a red "sunburst" type shape stating the number of mode conversions the figure has on the lower left hand side of the window. Where as the newer thick box versions used an arrow for the shape that encompasses the words. With that being said the optimal optimus figure from the US beast wars transmetal line was also produced with these two variants. Im not sure if the thickness is any different between the two versions but i do know that the first release of optimal optimus had the sunburst on the box and the second release used the arrow. I believe this site has only recognized the arrow version, or "thick box variant" if you will. Also there is a version of the US beast wars transmetal 2 dinobot missing from the site. Three of them have been recognized but there is a fourth version that is missing as well. If you take a look at how the dinobot figure with roman numeral II"s on the package is positioned you will see it is as if he is rearing up or at least has his head tilted upward. As opposed to the other two versions you have listed where he is much more hunched over. There is a fourth version where he is the same creme color and in the same reared up position as the roman numeral version but the packaging for it used a number 2 much like the later versions did. I hope this helps and can be easily fixed to make your site more accurate and complete.
